• TEMPERED GLASS DEFECTS: Dan Fields shows various pictures of surface defects and scratches on tempered glass. He also explains the problems that arise with poor quality tempered and heat-treated glass. Dan discusses different types of glass, tha basic process for heat-treating glass and how low-e coatings have helped to expose this hidden defect, which is a direct result of poor quality fabricating. He demonstrates on a piece of poor quality tempered glass how fabricating debris can be identified and how tempered glass waivers should be used to protect window cleaners and builders from liability.
